Marc Bristol: Bluegrass Blend CD - Northwest REAL Country Music

We don't want you to think this CD represents the pure "high lonesome" sound (hence the title), but what you get is a lot of fine acoustic Country Music with lots of banjo, dobro, mandolin, fiddle - and a few other surprises like spoons (on "The End Of The World"), dulcimer (on the instrumental "Mountain Lullaby"), washtub bass (on all but four of the songs), and washboard (on "My Old' Rockin' Chair"). It's mountain music - Marc Bristol was living in the mountains when he wrote 8 of the songs, and in the foothills of the Cascades (where he still lives) when he wrote the rest! 10 of the songs were recorded in 1982 at sessions for Marc's first LP This Feelin', and the other 3 were recorded in 1982 with Marc's current Okie Doke band members Orville Johnson and Doug Bright plus current File' Gumbo bass player Joe Anderson and drummer Peter Laponte (well known around the Northwest for his participation in the Swingin' Swamis and now booking the Oregon Jamboree).
