Issue #63 - Summer 2003

We're extremely sad to report that Nick Curran lost his battle with cancer on Oct. 6, 2012. He was only 35, and one of the brightest lights in our American Roots music scene. He is also on the cover of issue #90, with a more recent interview in that issue.
#63 has an interview and cover story on young bluesman Nick Curran, a pictorial on the Ponderosa Stomp (held during jazzfest in New Orleans and which featured Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana, Earl Palmer, Billy Lee Riley, Paul Burlison, Deke Dickerson, Warren Storm, Rocky Burnette and lots of others!), the wild Johnny Legend talks about his career at Rollin' Rock and other artists he worked with there such as Ray Campi, Tony conn and Jackie Lee "Waukeen" Cochran, Steve Haggard of Wild Oats Records talks about the return of Frank "Andy" Starr, Jerry Lee's little sister Linda Gail Lewis is interviewed, and there's a story on R&B sax legend Noble "Thin Man" Watts. Plus of course lots and lots of reviews! You can purchase this issue securely online now! Or you can order a pdf version e-mailed to you: Click here to order this in PDF form only $7.50 anywhere!
