Blue Suede News music magazine #44 (Fall 1998) has 68 pages with a slick cover. Prominently featured
is Rockabilly singer Glen Glenn, who is semi-famous for his song
"Everybody's Movin'". Here is his life story and cool photos showing
him with Elvis and The Everly Brothers, among others. There
is an interview with Jerry Miller, former guitarist of Moby Grape,
Freddy Fender and Bobby Fuller and band member of the Frantics
and Epics and other sixties bands. He is still active today in the
blues-rock scene. There is also a review of the Rockabilly Rebel Weekender
in Indianapolis with fantastic photos by Steven R. Wolf (Big Sandy,
Josie Kreuzer, Frantic Flattops, Derailers, Blacktop
Rockets, Twistin' Tarantulas and Mac Curtis. Also featured
is a short story about Sun-Rockabilly legend Charlie Feathers and
a live review of a show Janis Martin and Rosie Flores palyed
in Seattle. Justin Curtis and his band has a feature article and
so does Len Barry, former member of Sixties group the Dovells.
The Dovells had several top hits and starred in the movie Don't
Knock the Twist. There is a great photo layout and short write-up of
the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle (Wayne Hancock, Ronnie
Dawson, Irma Thomas, Peter Green ,T-Model Ford,
Beau Jocque, Dave Van Ronk, Buck Owens) and another
short write-up and photos of a Pat Boone show and a BR5-49
concert.
