Blue Suede News #32 (Fall
1995) has 52 pages with a slick cover. Its feature articles include a lengthy
story about Etta James, famous R&B, Blues, Soul and Rock'n'Roll
singer titled ETTA JAMES Roll With Me Henry to The Rock
And Roll Hall Of Fame. Another interesting feature is an extended interview
with Charlie Baty, leader of blues outfit Little Charlie &
the Nightcats. There is also an interesting interview with promoter,
manager and musician Pat Mason who worked with Willie Nelson,
Buddy Holly and tons of other 50s and 60s acts, managed Gene Vincent
and Paul Revere & the Raiders. That interview includes a couple
cool photos with him and Roy Orbison and on stage singing with Dorsey
Burnette.
You can purchase this issue securely online now - while it only has 52 pages like our current issues, the paper was thicker and they cost more to mail, thus the 68 page price.
