Blue Suede News #1 (officially
it's called Vol. One Number 1) from February 1986 in NEW condition. See
our humble beginnings! Shortly after Rick Nelson was tragically taken from
us, Marc Bristol decided to start Blue Suede News in tribute
to him and the music we all love. The original kernel of suggestion came
from Mike Bonin, then bassist and lead singer for the Moondawgs,
the most authentic Rockabilly band in Seattle at that time. It has 16 pages.
Rick Nelson is on the cover, with a short piece in tribute to him
and his bandmates who all went down with that plane. There's an essay called
"State of the Art" regarding the rising position of American Roots
music styles at the time. And there are stories on Portland, Oregon's psychobilly
band The Jackals, and Rollin' Rock artists the Magnetics.
There's also a story on Seattle's Dynmic Logs, a top R&B
outfit in the late '70s and early '80s, who reunited for a recording..
